What do I need to do if I want to send in scrap to be refined and have never worked with Noble Metal Smithing before?

The first thing you need to do is to provide us with your business information so that we can send you the proper registration forms for compliance review and approval. These forms can be requested by calling us at 551-307-7007. We can email or fax you the needed documents to complete and return to us. These forms are required by the government to ensure our practices are ethical. Once we have this documentation, we can create an account for you to do business with United upon approval from our compliance department.

How long does it take to process my lot?

The type of material will determine how long it takes to process. Please refer to the following estimated schedule:

• High Grade Gold Scrap – Same day service

• High Grade Silver Scrap – Same day service

• High Grade Platinum / Palladium – Same day service

• Mid Grade Gold, Silver & Platinum Scrap – 3-7 business days

• Bench Sweeps / Filings – 7-10 business days

• Polishing Sweeps – 15 business days

• Floor/Blower Sweeps – 15 business days

Is there a minimum amount of material that I need to have before sending in my material for processing?

Noble Metal Smithing does not have a minimum quantity requirement however there are minimum lot charges. The basic rule of thumb is that you should wait until you have accumulated as follows before meeting with us or having us come to you.

• High Grade Gold Scrap – 1 troy ounce or 20 dwt

• High Grade Silver Scrap – 30 troy ounces

• High Grade Platinum / Palladium – ½ troy ounce

• Polishing / Blower Sweeps – 5 lbs.

Can I make an appointment to have you come to my store / location?

We offer on site analysis and same day settlement throughout the tristate area.

What payment options do you offer?

Cash, Check, Bank Wire, ACH Transfer, Gold/Silver Bullion or Coin

Do you offer your services to the public?

We do not. We only transact with other licensed businesses. If you are looking to sell valuables we will happily provide you with multiple recommendations or referrals call us at 551-307-7007.

Do I need to make an appointment to visit your location?

We do require appointments to visit our facility we are open and available by appointment only Monday – Friday 9:30am – 6:30pm (excluding banking holidays)
